Hickens Hotel
More than a pint-sized piece of history
An ode to the infamous Abe Hickens. The English-born boxer known for running illegal boxing matches at this Melbourne destination in the 1870s. Reimagined with playful homage, this heritage site is now a bustling 4-level pub, sports bar, lounge and rooftop. Tasked with developing the brand, we established a cheeky, nostalgic yet familiar double identity for the main bar and venue as well as Abe’s Athletic Hall – a dedicated sports emporium filled with arcade games, karaoke, foosball and beer towers.
